This iconic piece is inspired by the artist’s trip to Wyoming. The artist took his sketchbook and sketched many views on his trip including Yellowstone National Park, the Badlands and “Devil’s Tower” - the first national monument in the United States. This piece is heavily inspired by the fauvist artists of early 20th century Europe such as de Vlaminck, Derain and Mattise.
