I painted Morning Walk Miami Beach from photos I took while walking around Miami Beach on vacation.
I had always wanted to see the Art Deco district in person. The bold colors, the shapes, the weird confidence of the buildings — all of it has always spoken to me. Not in a mystical way. More in a “bloody hell, that looks good in the sun” kind of way.
This painting leans into that: blue sky, palm trees, pastel buildings, people walking, bikes parked up, and that bright coastal light bouncing around like it owns the place.
It’s an 8x10 oil painting on panel. Small enough to fit just about anywhere, but loud enough to hold its own.
