Stained Glass Tree is an 11x14 oil painting created in August 2022. It’s a bold, vibrant exploration of light, color, and structure—all centered on a lone tree painted with the vivid fragmentation of a stained-glass window.
This tree doesn’t just sit in the landscape—it glows. Its branches are broken into rich, abstract shapes filled with fiery reds, luminous yellows, and cool blues. Each section feels like a piece of colored glass framed in lead, echoing the sacred geometry of cathedral windows. It’s both natural and symbolic, grounded and otherworldly.
The surrounding brushwork is softer and darker by contrast, allowing the tree to radiate like a beacon. This interplay of form and texture is a hallmark of my post-impressionist approach—where what’s felt matters as much as what’s seen. The color choices were deliberate: meant to evoke warmth, growth, and a sense of inner light.
There’s no literal place here—just the presence of something rooted and beautiful. I like to think of this piece as a meditation on resilience. Trees grow through storms. Stained glass is made by breaking and reassembling. In that spirit, this painting offers brightness stitched from fragments.
Whether you love abstracted nature scenes or are drawn to color-driven emotional work, Stained Glass Tree offers both a visual punch and a quiet spiritual hum.
